Clubs & Groups

We select students based on their spelling ability. Students practice weekly to prepare for a statewide competition in the fall. According the the Oxford University Press, confident spellers are “more likely to make adventurous vocabulary choices, selecting the exact word to communicate their message…” We completely concur—c.o.n.c.u.r—concur!

Scipio Elementary selects students based on their mathematical skills. Students practice weekly to prepare for a statewide competition in the spring.

Our fifth and sixth-grade students select their peers (two per classroom) to represent Scipio Elementary. These students organize fundraising activities, assist with kindergarten roundup, and serve as leaders of the school.

This club is for fourth through sixth-grade students. Students read selected novels and then discuss them in monthly meetings.

Students who participate in our fitness club stay after school to run and participate in other fitness activities.

Students in fourth and fifth grades try out for this club. They compete in different events throughout the year and at state and regional competitions held in the spring.

Students create scrapbooks using their favorite photographs.

Students build a robot and operate it to complete tasks during competitions throughout the year.

Students in fourth through sixth grades meet monthly to build a variety of items related to a specific theme from Legos.
